How Customers Turned Year-End Recognition Into a Shareable Employee Story on LinkedIn

In the whirlwind of year-end deadlines, project launches, and holiday preparations, something important often falls through the cracks: recognizing the people who made it all possible. It’s not that we don’t appreciate our colleagues, it’s that the daily grind leaves little time to pause and acknowledge the big and small wins. As workloads intensify and to-do lists grow, employee recognition can inadvertently become an afterthought, even for the most well-intentioned teams.

But the end of the year presents a perfect opportunity to change that narrative. As teams took a moment to reflect on the months behind them, our customers turned reflection into celebration, highlighting the contributions that defined their year through Personalized Recognition Wrap-Ups, powered by Semos Cloud.

The Use Case: Making Recognition Personal, Visible, and Shareable

SAP wanted to close the year by recognizing real contributions in a way that felt personal, authentic, and modern. Employees were already actively recognizing each other throughout the year. The missing piece was helping people see the full picture of their impact.

With Personalized Recognition Wrap-Ups, SAP employees received a visual summary of their year, including:

  • Recognition received from peers and leaders
  • Total awards and acknowledgments
  • Key contribution areas and strengths recognized by others
  • Contextual insights that showed how their impact compared within the organization

This wasn’t a static report. It was a story, automatically generated using AI, reviewed by leaders, and delivered at exactly the right moment: year-end reflection. t because we use it. This program is not theory for us. It is part of how we close the year.

From Internal Recognition to External Impact on LinkedIn

What made the SAP use case especially powerful was how recognition moved beyond internal walls.

Each wrap-up was designed to be instantly shareable on LinkedIn. With one click, employees could post their personalized recognition summary, turning individual appreciation into public storytelling.

For example, when an employee shared their year-end wrap-up highlighting peer recognition for collaboration, innovation, or social impact, it did more than celebrate one person. It showed the market what the company values. It gave candidates a real glimpse into the culture. And it reinforced recognition as something lived daily, not reserved for annual awards.

This is exactly why SAP chose to launch wrap-ups now. They are live, shareable, and relevant, and they create visibility not only for employees, but for the company and its culture.

What the Data Showed

The impact of recognition wrap-ups is not theoretical. It is measurable and global.

This year alone, more than 4.8 million recognitions were shared through Semos Cloud. In December 2025, employees from 170+ countries shared their recognition, including wrap-ups, on LinkedIn.

Across customers like SAP, sharing activity broke down as follows:

  • APAC (nearly 40%) – strong adoption across India, the Philippines, Australia, Singapore, and beyond
  • EMEA (26%) – high engagement across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • LATAM (25%) – enthusiastic sharing across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia
  • North America (nearly 10%) – consistent participation across the US and Canada

Two formats stood out:

  • Personalized wrap-ups (65%) showcasing quarterly or annual impact
  • Recognition certificates (35%) celebrating milestones and achievements

Most importantly, 96.5% of shares came from individual contributors, not leaders. Recognition was truly employee-owned and bottom-up.

Why This Matters for Enterprise HR and Employer Branding

Recognition wrap-ups delivered measurable impact across the organization:

  • Boosted engagement: Employees felt seen with concrete proof of their contributions, strengthening connection and motivation.
  • Improved retention: Highlighting meaningful work helped HR reduce turnover and increase tenure.
  • Streamlined HR processes: AI-generated summaries eliminated manual work, saving time and effort.
  • Empowered managers: Leaders closed the year strong without chasing recognition moments, driving consistent team morale.
  • Amplified employer brand: Authentic employee stories scaled organically, signaling a culture of appreciation both internally and externally.
  • Turned recognition into a strategic signal: Recognition became a public demonstration of culture, values, and employee impact, reinforcing organizational priorities.

Recognition stopped being an internal activity and became a public signal of culture, values, and appreciation.

Beyond the Holidays

While year-end is the perfect launch moment, SAP’s use of recognition wrap-ups goes far beyond seasonal morale. These summaries create lasting value by:

  • Giving employees documentation of growth for reviews and career conversations
  • Inspiring peers by making great work visible
  • Reinforcing what the organization truly values
  • Supporting retention by helping people feel consistently recognized

A Recognition Culture, Wrapped Up

SAP’s example shows that recognition doesn’t have to be just another HR initiative. When done right, it becomes a shared experience employees are proud to talk about.

This holiday season, SAP didn’t just say thank you. They showed employees, clearly and personally, why their work mattered.

And that is the kind of recognition people remember, share, and carry with them into the new year.
